The Communications Committee is responsible for creating NAILBA’s annual strategic communications plan, developing content for all publications, overseeing the NAILBA Web site, identifying public relations activities, and developing competitive intelligence for the wholesale brokerage industry.

2008 Subcommittees

Public Relations
Chair: Laurie Prevette, Equity Brokerage Inc.
Develop public relations strategy to increase NAILBA’s credibility within the industry. Seek opportunities to collaborate with allied organizations.  Create a spokesperson database of sources for media inquiries.  Understand the needs/wants of each audience we’re targeting and make decisions in response to those needs/wants.  Determine the most appropriate channels to reach the target audience for maximum impact.  Develop a message map that identifies NAILBA’s messages and content for a 12-month period.  Develop mechanism to evaluate success of strategy. 

Statistics and Trends
Determine the type of market research needed by the brokerage industry (.  Identify available techniques and methodologies to generate the data required.  Explore partnerships with outside organizations to acquire the research.  Identify brokerage industry trends.

Online Communications
Oversee www.nailba.org.  Periodically review usability of site.  Ensure the site serves as a comprehensive resource for NAILBA members.  Identify opportunities to enrich the site.  Identify new tools to archive and disseminate information on the site.  Oversee production of NAILBA Now.  Identify other opportunities for online communication (e.g., subject-specific e-newsletters, blogs, NAILBA pages on social networking sites like FaceBook).
